“Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.” —William Wadsworth
“The road to hell is paved with adverbs.” — Stephen King
Communication comes easy for me. My mother was an editor — a very good editor— who worked with several publications. When I was young, I didn’t feel it was important when she suggested changes in sentence structure or corrected my grammar. But, these little explanations and tweaks to my writing stuck with me. She taught me the power of carefully chosen words, clear communication, as well as honesty in the things I say and write. Though, I’ve always preferred visual arts to communicate the grey and the subtleties of life, it was the concrete written word that became my career for nearly twenty years.
I have written eighteen mass market books and edited four more, for others. I’ve worked as a game writer, a journalist, and a technical writer for two major corporations (editing and polishing employee guides and manuals) and I’ve created marketing material for numerous companies. My teaching experience includes poetry, fiction, non-fiction and self-exploratory writing. I coach others beginning their own writing career.
Included here are links to my books; a couple of full articles that appeared in papers and magazines; excerpts from my syndicated column that ran across the country for seven years, and my poetry.
